Since the mid-twentieth century, intercultural literature by authors of migrant origin has played an important role in the European publishing sector. However, in Spain, this tradition remains limited, with African literature standing out as a remarkable exception that has drawn growing interest from both scholars and publishers. This study examines the Spanish translation of novels written in English, French or German by African women living in Europe. It explores publishing dynamics, the (self-)representation of Africa and African women, and microtextual dimensions from a translation studies perspective. Its aim is to contribute to the dissemination of peripheral literatures and to the understanding of their characteristics both in the source and target language.
