El objeto de estudio del paisaje lingüístico (PL) es naturalmente polifacético y por ello se ha abordado desde múltiples acercamientos. En este trabajo se defiende la conveniencia de adoptar una postura teórica y metodológica amplia e integradora para la investigación en este tema, precisamente porque la amplitud del objeto de estudio así lo requiere. Para mostrarlo se introducen algunos de los principales enfoques teórico-metodológicos de estudio del PL, se valora críticamente su interés y se aplican a un estudio de caso del PL de Valencia.
The object of study of the linguistic landscape (LL) is naturally multifaceted and therefore has been approached from multiple approaches. This work defends the convenience of adopting a broad and integrative theoretical and methodological stance for research on this topic, precisely because the breadth of the object of study requires it. To show this, some of the main theoretical-methodological approaches to the study of LL are introduced, their interest is critically assessed, and they are applied to a case study of LL in Valencia.
