The author reviews several theatrical versions —three autos and three comedias— and some sparse allusions to the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son from the end of the 16th century, in order to complete the recent works by Oteiza (2017) and Massanet Rodríguez (2017), and to establish both the development of the topic and certain possible influences between different playwrights and artists.
