Wittgenstein's philosophy is basically a study of language. Indeet it represents an overlapping of philosophy and philology, since only through an analysis of language can we break, the spell cast by words and escape the dangers inherent in the use of meaningless sentences, which, according to Wittgenstein, have so far characterised metaphysics.
