Los dos personajes centrales de la tragedia Electra de Sófocles, Clitemnestra y Electra, madre e hija, hacen gala de caracteres de fuerza desmedida y diametralmente enfrentados. Este antagonismo no impide que se observen semejanzas en sus formas de actuar y sobre todo en el motivo de su encarnizado desencuentro que, más allá de los cruentos hechos sucedidos, se encuentra en una cuestión de poder.
The two main characters in Electra by Sofocles, Clitemnestra and Electra, mother and daughter respectively, display their raging and antagonistic personalities in this tragedy. This conflict does not prevent us from perceiving similarities in the way they behave and, above all, in the reason for their ferocious confrontation which, beyond the gory events that have taken place, stems from their lust for power.
