Este artículo pretende desarrollar un escueto estudio sobre el gato en el refranero rumano. En primer lugar, analizaremos las relaciones entre gatos y perros, por un lado, y entre gatos y ratones, por otro. A continuación, mostraremos el instinto cazador del joven gato, pero también sus resignados propósitos cuando envejece; como también la importancia de usar las "herramientas" adecuadas para cazar ratones, o los festejos de éstos cuando el gato no está en casa. Como en rumano los dos nombres más usuales para el gato son femeninos, algunas veces encontraremos una clara analogía con la mujer. Los felinos también actuarán en las predicciones meteorológicas e incluso servirán para denotar acciones improbables o imposibles. A menudo, en los refranes, se mencionan elementos de la cotidianidad, sobretodo el saco, además de otros objetos del ámbito gastronómico. Finalmente, presentaremos algunos proverbios castellanos sin equivalente literal en rumano.
The aim of this article is to develop a little study about the cat in the Romanian proverbs. First of all, we will analyze the relations between cats and dogs, on the one hand, and between cats and mice, on the other hand. Later, we will show the hunter instinct of the young cat, but also the resigned purposes when it becomes old; as well as the importance of using the suitable "tools" to hunt mice, or the celebrations of the mice when the cat is not in the house. Because in Romanian the two nouns most used for cat are feminine, sometimes we will find a clear analogy with the woman. The felines will act also in the meteorological forecast and they even will serve to denote improbable or impossible actions. Often, in the proverbs, there are mentioned elements of the daily life, overall the sack, amen of other objects of the culinary area. Finally, we will present some spanish proverbs without equivalent literally in Romanian.
