Goffman (1959, 1967, 1971 y 1981) ha introducido el concepto de interaccionismo simbólico, estudiando las interacciones humanas cotidianas: en ellas es fundamental la idea de sujeto social que presenta una imagen pública, y el análisis de la interacción como un ritual social. Partiendo de este marco teórico hemos decidido analizar una de las interacciones humanas cotidianas de mayor importancia, i.e., el saludo. Para nuestro análisis nos hemos basado en un corpus formado por seis películas de Luis García Berlanga, así como por unos manuales de urbanidad editados entre los años 1902 - 1975. A través del análisis de las escenas de las películas hemos podido estudiar detenidamente los elementos verbales y kinésicos que determinan el ritual del saludo.
Goffman (1959, 1967, 1971 and 1981) has introduced the concept of symbolic human interactions: in them the idea of social subject is fundamental that it presents a public image, and the analysis of the interaction like a social ritual. Starting off of this theoretical frame we have decided to analyze one of the daily human interactions of greater importance, i.e., the greeting. For our analysis we have been based on corpus formed by six films of Luis García Berlanga, as well as by manuals of politeness published between years 1902 - 1975. Through analysis of the scenes of the films we have been able at great length to study the verbal and body language elements that determine the ritual of the greeting.
