En los trabajos y estudios gramaticales existentes sobre la condicionalidad y sus formas de expresión, se suele atender casi de forma exclusiva a la conjunción subordinante si, sin tener en consideración otras construcciones, locuciones o nexos que, a veces contextualmente, pueden transmitir el mismo valor que las cláusulas introducidas por si. Por otra parte y pese a que hay autores que así lo entienden, creemos que no todas las oraciones que presentan el esquema si A, B expresan un valor condicional. Esta circunstancia, dado que su interpretación en el sentido citado es muy dudosa, ha llevado a que su estudio sea casi inexistente. Por otra parte, hay que decir que el marco temporal que acota nuestro estudio será el siglo XVIII, un siglo que asimismo ha sido poco estudiado desde un punto de vista lingüístico y que merece atención pues en él se van fraguando y consolidando, igual que en otros siglos, las bases del español contemporáneo.

This circumstance, since its interpretation in the mentioned sense is very doubtful, has taken to that their study is almost nonexistent. On the other hand, it is necessary to say that the temporary frame that limits our study will be century XVIII, a century that also little has been studied from a linguistic point of view and that deserves attention then in him is forged and consolidating, just as in other centuries, the bases of the contemporary Spanish.
