    Although double articulation is considered to be one of the core features of human language, not much attention has been paid to it in the field of language origins and evolution. Lately, this abandonment has been partly reversed, but the incorporation of double articulation to evolutionary explanations has distorted the original linguistic notion. The paper aims at discussing two examples which clearly illustrate such a distortion.

    Encara que la doble articula-ció és reconeguda com un dels trets definitoris del llenguatge humà, ha rebut poca atenció en els estudis sobre l'origen i evolució del llenguatge. Aquesta situació s'ha solucionat parcialment en els darrers anys, però la incorporació d’aquesta qüestió a les explicacions evolutives s'ha fet a costa d'un canvi notable pel que fa a la noció assentada en la lingüística. Aquest treball en discuteix un parell d’exemples clars.
