El artículo intenta indagar, a través del procedimiento alegórico, en la naturaleza animal de lo humano que Pablo Urbanyi desarrolla en la figura del personaje Silver, que le da el título a la novela. Nombre propio el de Silver para una experiencia de lo impropio, esto es, de la des-apropiación del ser. Nuestro enfoque toma como punto de partida las lecturas de Alain Badiou y de Giorgio Agamben, filósofos que han puesto en el centro de sus respectivas reflexiones el análisis exhaustivo de lo que Urbanyi lleva al plano de la ficción: el devenir animal del hombre y el devenir humano del animal, un juego de reversibilidad que cristaliza en una paradoja moderna. La novela de Urbanyi es leída, con este planteamiento, en el marco de la narrativa argentina
This article aims to investigate how Pablo Urbanyi's allegorical techniques develop the notion of the animalistic nature of the human being in the eponymous character of his 2008 novel, Silver. The proper name 'Silver' serves to explore the experience of the improper, that is, of the dis-appropriation of the self. The article takes as its starting point the readings of Alain Badiou and Giorgio Agamben, philosophers who have, in their reflections, produced an exhaustive analysis of what Urbanyi realizes in his fiction: that is, how man becomes animal and animal becomes human, a reversible game which crystallizes in a modern paradox. In the light of this proposal Urbayni's novel is read within the framework of Argentinian narrative
