This article is based on the typological classification of the languages that was introduced particularly by Vladimír Skalièka, member of the Prague School, who distinguishes isolating languages from languages of a predominantly agglutinative, inflectional, polysynthetic and introflectional type. The present paper offers a comparison of the nominal system of the Czech and Portuguese language. Despite the significant typological differences between them, we try to find the meeting points of some grammatical categories in the two languages.
