The end of the Visigoth kingdom, a darkperiod, until recently, was thought to be completed in 71. Before the nineteenth century, it was accepted that the Visigoth Kingdom, ended in 711 with the arrival of Muslims to defeat Roderic in the Guadalete river and that Akhila II was only a usurper who renounced the throne once Roderic was defeated. All this changed in the midnineteenth century with both the discovery of Visigoth king ́s coin Akhila II in Narbonne, and a manuscript, Laterculus Regum Visigothorum: Parísinus Lat. 4667, which extended the Visigoth kings ́ list. From now on, the historians started questioning and reviewing the end of the Visigoth kingdom and the Muslim invasion of the eighth century, using all the written sources (both Christian and Muslim) and the archaeological sources. In this state of the arts, we will show the views of historians who defended that the Visigoth kingdom ended in 711, and those who argued that it was around 725.We will analyze the sources in order to defend that the Visigoth kingdom ends in 725 with the fight between two dynasties (Khindasvint and Vamba) which caused a civil war in the Visigoths kingdom and the Muslims taked advantage of that war to conquer the Iberian Peninsula. We will see that apart from Roderic, there were 2 more Kings: Akhila II and Ardo who reigned in Catalonia, the fate of both dynasties after the Muslim occupation and the creation ofl-Andalus. We will analyze some archaeological coins such as the amount founded from Akhila II and the few ones from Roderic. All of them distributed over the most extreme peninsular points that will help us to understand how the peninsula was divided into two sides and the archaeological sites related to the last moments of Akhila II ́s kingdom and Ardo such as Bovalar and Puig Rom.
