En este artículo se pretende analizar ysenalar la importancia de los materiales au ténticosen la ensenanza de lenguas extranjeras, ya que suuso, además de motivar e incrementar el interés delos alumnos, promueve la interacción y la prácticade diferentes destrezas y permite el contactodirecto con la lengua real y contextualizada, taly como se usa fuera del aula. Trabajando con losmateriales auténticos, los alumnos estarán expuestosa un lenguaje auténtico, usual y actual, y ademásdescubrirán diferentes aspectos de la(s) cultura(s) delos países en los que se utiliza la lengua en cuestión.Así, comprendiendo no sólo la lengua meta queestudian sino también el complejo y peculiar mundoque la rodea, los alumnos serán capaces de adquiriruna competencia comunicativa e interculturalcompletas.
This article attempts to analyze andindicate the importance of authentic materials inthe teaching of foreign languages, as their use, inaddition to motivating and increasing students’interest, also promotes interaction and practice ofdiff erent skills and allows direct contact with the realand contextualised language the way it is being usedoutside the classroom. By working with authenticmaterials, students are to be exposed to an authenticspeech, common and up to date, and besides,they will discover diff erent cultural aspects of thecountries in which the language under discussion isbeing used. Th us, understanding not only the targetlanguagethey are studying but also the complexand peculiar world surrounding them, students willbe able to acquire a complete communicative andintercultural competence.
