En este trabajo se reúnen los datosprincipales sobre la recepción de Miguel deCervantes y su obra en Serbia, desde el siglo XVIIIhasta el XXI. La difusión del autor y/o su obra hasido presentada a través de tres corrientes paralelas –las traducciones, la recepción en la crítica y las huellas(quijotescas) en la literatura de fi cción. Asimismo, seha hecho hincapié en el hecho de que la simpatía porlos héroes alcalaíno y manchego todavía sigue vivatanto en las letras como en la sociedad serbia y seesbozan las posibles razones para ello.
This paper compiles the data on thereception of Cervantes and his work in Serbia,since the XVIII to the XXI century. Th e diff usionof the author or/and his works is presented throughthree main paths – translations, reception in literarycriticism and (quixotic) traces in narrative fi ction.Special mention is paid to the fact that the sympathyfor both heroes, one from Alcalá and the other fromLa Mancha, is still alive among the readers and inserbian society. We also outline the possible reasonsfor it.
