Marco Anneo Lucano, nace en Córdoba, España. Aunque se educa en Roma y uno de sus maestros es su tío Lucio Anneo Séneca, estudia también en Grecia, asiste a las clases de la Academia, donde todavía resuenan los ecos de Anaxágoras y de Zenón de Citio, el gran maestro del estoicismo. Se enfrenta poéticamente con Nerón, porque el emperador se considera el mejor poeta del Imperio. Los dos rivales se presentan en el teatro Pompeyo y los jueces declaran vencedor a Lucano; pero Nerón le prohíbe que escriba versos y le condena a muerte. Lucano entra en la estancia donde tiene que morir acompañado de su esposa, su padre, tres amigos y su esclavo. Lucano muere con 26 años.
Marco Anneo Lucano, is born in Cordoba, Spain. He is educated in Rome, being one of his masters his own uncle Lucio Anneo Séneca but he also studies in Greece and attends the lectures of the Academy where the echoes of Anaxágoras and Zenón of Citio, the great master of Stoicism, are yet heard.
He confronts Nerón poetically since the emperor considers himself the best poet of the empire. Both rivals perform at Pompeyo Theatre resulting Lucano the winner after the declaration of the judges; but Nerón bans him from writing verses and sentences him to death. Lucano enters the room where he has to die along with his wife, his father, three of his friends an a slave. Lucano dies at the age of 26
