En el artículo se abordan las expresiones rituales de carácter dramático que se practicaban en el culto nahua precortesiano, tomando como fuente la obra del cronista fray Diego Durán. A partir de un enfoque metodológico de carácter etnohistórico, el artículo aporta evidencia de que el rito en el mundo nahua prehispánico construía referentes culturales a partir de la representación dramática.
The discussion is focus on the chronicle of the Dominican friar Diego Durán, specifically on his research about the dramatics aspects of the rituals practiced among the Nahua people of Prehispanic times. Using an ethno historical approach this article presents evidence which shows that dramatic representation was used by the Nahuas to create cultural references.
