The text of the Conquista Espiritual is not only a valuable document for understanding the Jesuits or cultural contact with the natives of the southern part of Chile, but also to account for linguistic aspects that caracterize this southern Spanish dialect, which differs from the nearby viceroyalty and already at this time of the seventeenth century may well say that it has found a precise course. It is noteworthy that orality has crossed a significant degree of textual production, to the point that this manuscript could not be edited without reference to all erasures and whole sections deleted from the text, and presenting both linguistic and textual aspects of strong interest. In this paper a first analysis is carried out both in relation to the characteristics of American Spanish language, such as in the intratextual perspective between the official text and marginalized text.
