Si partimos de la idea de que en la lengua no hay homogeneidades, tendríamos que preguntarnos si el criterio que se sigue para identificar la norma lingüística está bien definido o, al menos, si los hablantes así lo sienten. Podríamos también plantearnos si realmente existen dos normas diferenciadas en español. En este sentido, se ha defendido la necesidad de definir dos realidades distintas que resuelva un conflicto evidente, ya que si hay una única referencia, el hablante se aleja de lo que no puede acatar, lo que, paradójicamente, dificulta aquello que se defiende. En este trabajo pretendemos analizar diferentes opiniones, algunas muy dispares, centradas fundamentalmente en el seseo y el ceceo, que evidencian que la idea de prestigio o desprestigio lingüístico ha sido y es controvertida. El establecimiento de unos criterios sensatos, no impositivos y realistas, da lugar a que la unidad, dentro de la diversidad, sea posible.
If we start from the idea that there is no homogeneity of language, we should ask whether the criteria followed to identify the linguistic norm is well defined or at least if the speakers feel it. We might also ask whether there really are two separate norms in Spanish. In this sense, it has defended the need to define two different realities to resolve an obvious conflict, since if there is a single reference, the speaker moves away from that which can not comply, which, paradoxically, makes that which is defended difficult. In this article, we analyze different views, some very different, centred fundamentally in the seseo and the ceceo, which show that the idea of standing or lack of prestige language has been and remains controversial. The establishment of sensible criteria, no tax and realistic results in unity within diversity is possible.
