The aim of this paper is to show the signifying efficacy of cinema discourse from its own semiotic materiality. The consideration of the filmic enunciation as an impersonal instance (Metz), of the fantasmatic structure of the film projection as a condition of a deconstructive reading (Derrida), of the time-image as a semiotic materiality but not a linguistic one (Deleuze) and of the paradoxical dimension needed to think the event (Badiou) allow the contribution of relevant comments about the significant processes in the cinema discourse and they allow to show the close link between aesthetic form and enunciative movements. With this purpose we analyze a piece of the film In a year with 13 moons (In einem Jahr mit 13 Monden) by the German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder because the configuration of meanings that his signic materiality displays allows a reflection about the tragic nature of the subjectivity. The chosen scene for the analysis, showing what it shows and how it shows, makes it possible to think, from her own significant materiality, the constitutive difference of the subjectivity which makes that the gender identity, structurally threatened from her limits, can not be conceived as a full, uniform and definitive identity for the subject.
