El presente trabajo se propone analizar los espacios en la novela más importante del autor alemán Theodor Fontane, Effi Briest (1895), bajo una perspectiva simbólica. Se tomarán distintos episodios de la obra para llevar a cabo un estudio sobre las significaciones de cada uno de los elementos que aparecen ligados a los ambientes. Se comentará, además, la personalidad de los caracteres, las relaciones que se mantienen entre ellos y el entorno físico.
This paper analyzes the spaces in the most important novel by the German author Theodor Fontane, Effi Briest (1895), under a symbolic perspective. Different episodes of the work will be taken to conduct a study on the meanings of each of the elements that appear linked to spaces. Moreover, comments on the personality of the characters and the relationship between them and their physical space will be made.
