From 1623, the guild of booksellers of Barcelona, called the Brotherhood of St Jerome, had the right to sell in that city the Peregrinació del Venturós Pelegrí, one of the most widely read books of the modern age. During the years 1718–1730, under the reign of Philip V, a significant legislative change gave the University of Cervera the exclusive right to publish in Catalonia not only the Venturós Pelegrí but also other manuals and pedagogical works. Considering historical data such as these, this paper examines from a bibliographic viewpoint sixteen editions printed in Barcelona, Cervera or Manresa, which partially contain the same series of woodcuts. We reproduce the xylographies used in all of them, establishing some appropriate relationships from the analysis of these graphic elements
Des de 1623, el gremi de llibreters de Barcelona, conegut com la Confraria de San Jeroni, gaudí d’una privativa per a vendre en aquesta ciutat la Peregrinació del Venturós Pelegrí, una de les obres en català que va tenir major difusió impresa a l’Edat Moderna. Entre els anys 1718–1730, sota el regnat de Felip V, es produí un important canvi legislatiu que atorgà a la Universitat de Cervera el privilegi per a publicar a Catalunya no només el Venturós Pelegrí sinó també altres manuals i obres d’ús pedagògic. Tot considerant dades històriques com les que acabem d’indicar, aquest article estudia des d’un punt de vista bibliogràfic setze edicions impreses a Barcelona, Cervera o Manresa, les quals presenten parcialment les mateixes sèries xilogràfiques. Reproduïm els gravats emprats en totes elles i establim algunes relacions oportunes a partir de l’anàlisi d’aquests elements gràfics
