In molti romanzi contemporanei si fa riferimento all'arte, in tutte le sue declinazioni. Colui che crea con le parole cerca di produrre un effetto speculare tra la sua scrittura e il mezzo che utilizzano le altre forme d'arte. Nelle opere di molte scrittrici, l'arte acquisisce un'importanza fondamentale, e molte volte è strettamente legata e intrecciata al sentimento, al territorio in cui nascono le emozioni. Almudena Grandes presenta, in alcune opere, dei personaggi che intrattengono un rapporto intimo con l'arte, che si rivela salvifica e vivificante, come nei romanzi Te llamaré Viernes (1991) e Castillos de cartón (2004) e nel racconto “Mozart, y Brahms, y Corelli” (2005). I personaggi femminili, in particolare, rappresentano l’asse portante del sentimento che scaturisce dall’arte.

In some works, Almudena Grandes presents characters who have an intimate relationship with art, which reveals itself as a vivifying power, as we can see in Te llamaré Viernes (1991) and Castillos de cartón (2004), and in the short story “Mozart, y Brahms, y Corelli” (2005). In particular, female characters embody sensibility generating from art.
