El artículo plantea una lectura analítica y panorámica de treinta cuentos reunidos bajo un mismo título simbólico, que transmiten una forma de pensar y sentir del ser centroamericano del siglo XXI, desde la perspectiva fragmentada y a la vez unitaria de una Centroamérica marcada por contrastes históricos y culturales, pero también por sus similitudes. El objetivo central es mostrar cómo esto se manifiesta no solo en los cuentos, sino también en las palabras de los autores, incluidas al final de cada relato. Se parte de una concepción teórica sobre la literatura como práctica social y a la vez como representación de diversas visiones sobre la propia identidad individual y colectiva. Asimismo, se asume una perspectiva histórico-cultural de la región. Se leyeron los cuentos siguiendo un hilo temático conductivo, lo que deja a futuros estudiosos el análisis pormenorizado de cada uno. El resultado es la visión de una Centroamérica capaz de dotar a la literatura universal de manifestaciones sugerentes, complejas y reveladoras
The article presents an analytical and panoramic reading of thirty stories collected under one symbolic title, which convey a way of thinking and feeling in Central American individuals in the XXI century as well as a fragmented and united perspective of a region marked by its historical and cultural contrasts, but also by their similarities. The central objective is to show how this unity is manifested not only in the stories themselves, but in the words of the authors, included at the end of each story. Reading was conducted by a theoretical conception about literature as a social practice and at the same time as a representation of different visions about individual and collective identity. It also assumes a historical-cultural perspective of the region.. The thirty stories were read by a broad thematic thread, leaving future scholars a detailed analysis of each one. The result is a vision of Central America as capable of providing the universal literature suggestive and revealing complex manifestations.
