Se explica la presencia de "relatos menores" -cuentos tradicionales tomados del folklore argentino- como piezas articuladas en la estructura de Don Segundo Sombra, en la media en que no son elementos añadidos sino partes interrelacionadas con otros episodios significativos. Sirven, fundamentalmente, para ilustrar conclusiones éticas a partir de la fábula, al modo de la narrativa oriental, y se sitúan en momentos clave de la novela. En tal sentido, la orientación de estos cuentos es a la vez anafórica y catafórica (es decir, una veces prepara para acontecimientos posteriores y otras se refiere, en forma de "espejo", a acontecimientos recién sucedidos). A este mismo fin se adapta la morfología del cuento.
The purpose of the present article has been to explain the presence of "minor stories -folktales taken from argentinian folklore- as articulated pieces in the structure of Don Segundo Sombra (Ricardo Giiiraldes), so they're not added elements but parts interrelatoning with anothes important episodes. They are worth, basically, to illuminate ethic conclusions from the story, like eastern narrative, and they're situated in key moments of the novel. In such sense, the tales purpose is also anaphoric and cataphoric (that is, sometimes they prepare for later happenings and another it's referring, such as a mirror, to a just happened events. In order of this same thing, the tale morphology is adapted.
