Analizado desde las más variadas posturas, el problema de esencia de la ficción literaria es uno de los asuntos centrales de la teoría literaria contemporánea, con acercamientos harto disímbolos y con frecuencia contradictorios entre sí; en este artículo ofrecemos una alternativa de análisis por medio de la sistematización de la Apariencia y la idea de Verdad, como han sido expuestas por Gustavo Bueno en sus trabajos acerca del cine, el teatro y la televisión. Con los mismos fines, incorporamos la clasificación de este estudioso acerca del mito, para exponer que la ficción literaria bien puede desplegar contenidos que la harían propagar un mito oscurantista o, por el contrario, puede ser el medio para exponer un mito luminoso. Expuesto lo anterior, ponemos a consideración, a manera de ejemplo de mito oscurantista, ciertos contenidos de la novela histórica La hija del judío de Justo Sierra O’Reilly, por ser coincidentes con las premisas de la Leyenda negra antiespañola, que habría sido replicada por este escritor mexicano en la coyuntura de una nueva nación política, México, necesitada de distinguirse como tal por medio del antiespañolismo. Un rasgo ideológico que pondría en duda la pertinencia de hablar de pacto de ficción entre esta novela y sus lectores.
Analyzed from different perspectives, the essence of the problem in fictional literature is one of the central issues of contemporary theory of literature, that most of the time include approaches too distant and frequently contradictories; in this article we offer an alternative analysis through the systematization of the Appearance and the idea of the Truth as Gustavo Bueno has exposed them in his work about movies, theater and television. With the same aim, we incorporate his classification about the myth to argument that fictional literature can display content that could propagate an obscurantist myth or, on the contrary, can be the means to present an enlightened myth. After stating this, we present certain content of Justo Sierra O’Reilly’s historical novel La hija del judío , as an example of obscurantist myth due to its similarities with the anti-Spanish black Legend premises that would have been replicated by this Mexican writer along with Mexico’s need to have a distinctive politics that would differentiate itself through anti-Spanish Sentiment. This is an ideological trait that could weaken the pertinence of talking about afiction pact between this novel and its readers.
