From Piscator’s proposal in the early stages to the new postdramatic trends in nowadays documentary theatre, there are constants and variants in this dramatic genre, which to this day characterizes by a prominent political and social emergency. To this end, selected works by Rolf Hochhuth, Rimini Protokoll and Milo Rau are analysed.
