El presente texto busca mostrar las relaciones de transtextualidad que se dan entre la primera obra de Gabriela Mistral, Desolación (1922), y algunos temas recurrentes de los “poemas mayores” de san Juan de la Cruz, como la concepción de la muerte como camino hacia la vida, el dolor y la consideración de la naturaleza como reflejo de Dios, explicitando, para ello, las fuentes de dicha transtextualidad.
The present article aims to show the relations of transtextuality between Gabriela Mistral’s Desolation (1922), and some recurring themes of saint John of the Cross’ “major poems”, such as the conception of death as a path towards true life, or the notion of pain and the consideration of nature as a reflection of God. In this context, the sources of the aforementioned transtextuality are explained.
