Este artículo ofrece una revisión, a partir de investigaciones recientes, de dos pasajes controversiales de la Soledad primera: la alegoría inaugural del Toro celeste y el "animal tenebroso". En el primer caso, se analizan a fondo la tradición poética de las cronografías zodiacales y los conceptos astrológicos involucrados y se exploran las posibilidades de significado de los versos apositivos. En el segundo se hace un examen metodológico sobre la indagación de la leyenda del carbunclo y se presentan otros testimonios de los comentarios contemporáneos que clarifican su identificación en la recepción crítica inicial del poema.
This article offers a review, based on recent research, of two controversial passages of Góngora's first Soledaden: the inaugural allegory of the Celestial Bull and the "dark animal". In the first case, the poetic tradition of zodiacal chronographies and the astrological concepts involved are analyzed in depth and the possibilities of meaning of the appositive verses are explored. In the second, a methodological examination of the search of the "carbuncle" legend is made and other testimonies of contemporary commentaries are presented that clarify its identification in the initial critical reception of the poem.
