The English-Greek Dictionary of False Friends was published in 2005 by the University of Athens. It was the first of its kind for that language pair and may be the only one that exists to date. Being aware of false friends is crucial for translators. To the best of our knowledge, however, there are no dictionaries of false friends for the Spanish-Greek language pair, let alone in the biomedical field. Thus, within a termino-lexicographical approach, the aim of the paper is twofold: to identify the terms related to the biomedical field in the dictionary and to provide their Spanish equivalents as an example of the dangers that lie in wait for their translation and for that of other related terms.
