Este artículo analiza las definiciones del microrrelato y la minificción con el propósito de hacer un recuento de sus aportaciones, al tiempo que propone una revisión de la historia del género para ampliar sus estudios y presentar otra línea de investigación, misma que comprenda sus principios estético-genéricos para dar cuenta de la función artística y social que tienen dentro de la tradición literaria. A su vez permite reflexionar sobre qué consideramos como "relato" en la actualidad, dado que la minificción, sobre todo, se distingue por admitir como textos literarios manifestaciones con ausencia narrativa, incluso, sin contar con un soporte textual.
This article analyzes the definitions of micro-story and minifiction in order to recount their contributions, while proposing a review of the history of gender to expand their studies and present another line of research, which includes its aesthetic principles to account for the artistic and social function they have inside the literary tradition. At the same time, it allows us to reflect on what we consider as a "story" today, given that the minifiction is distinguished by admitting devoid narration texts, even without a textual support.
