This paper shows the fashion production in Rio de Janeiro and San Paulo, between the Second World War and the 1950’s focalize the changes of haute-couture to prêt-a-porter. The european and american influences in the brazilian fashion appears in the magazines like Semana and Vida Domestica, like pedagogic devices for the modern brasilian women. The concepts developed are style, production and costumers.
