En este artículo realizo un repaso por la breve bibliografía que existe sobre la autoría de La vida del pícaro, publicada en Valencia en 1601. Una vez recopilados los argumentos, los pondré en contraste entre sí para lograr descartar aquellos con menor fuerza y llegar a una conclusión final sobre la autoría de esta obra. El objetivo de este artículo, por lo tanto, no es el de determinar con absoluta certeza el nombre del autor de la obra, sino que pretende señalar a un autor como el más probable, así como establecer consenso entre los argumentos de los pocos críticos que se han dedicado a la autoría de este texto.
In this article I offer an overview on the short bibliography that exists about the authorship of La vida del pícaro, published in Valencia in 1601. Once the arguments have been collected, I will contrast them with each other to discard those with less force and reach a final conclusion about the authorship of this work.
The objective of this article, therefore, is not to determine with absolute certainty the name of the author of the work, but rather to point to an author as the most likely, as well as to establish consensus among the arguments of the few critics who have dedicated themselves to the authorship of this text
