El cine posmoderno de Almodóvar, que ha ido evolucionando con el tiempo, tiene en común en todas sus etapas el intento de mostrar no solo un producto cinematográfico, sino también la propia creación de ese producto y de la autoría que se genera en ese proceso narrativo. La autoconfiguración de Almodóvar como autor se da, especialmente en Los abrazos rotos y Dolor y gloria, a través de la mezcla entre metaficción y autoficción, con diferentes técnicas y el protagonismo de personajes creadores.
Almodovar’s postmodern cinema has suffered a development over the years. All its stages have in common the attempt to show not only the result of his work as a filmmaker, but also the creation itself of the films and of the authorship that borns in that narrative process. Almodovar’s self-fashioning as an author takes place, specially in Los abrazos rotos and Dolor y gloria, through metafiction and autofiction, and thanks to different techniques and the leading roles of creative characters.
