Tal com indica el títol que acabem de presentar, el nostre objectiu és el desenvolupament de dos estudis clarament diferenciats. El primer -lexicològic, a les seccions 1 i 2- intenta reflectir, després d'una localització històrica i tipològica de la llengua nahua, el substrat d'aquesta llengua indígena que contribueix a conformar l'espanyol de El Salvador. El segon estudi -lexicogràfic, a la secció 3- pretén informar del tractament que atorga el DRAE al cabdal lèxic nahua.
As the title indicates, the aim of this work is to develop two clearly differentiated lines of research. The first is a lexicological study (Sections 1 and 2) which attempts to reveal the substratum of Nahuatl language which has contributed to the shaping of El Salvadoran Spanish. The second is a lexicographical study (Section 3) in which an assessment is made of the extent to which the DRAE (1992) takes Nahuatl vocabulary into account.
