El presente artículo, de índole lingüística, examina el topónimo Cerro Muriano estudiando su procedencia y descartando al mismo tiempo alguna interpretación que se considera errónea. Para ello, se parte del análisis de sus posibles orígenes, llegando a la conclusión de su carácter prerromano. A continuación, se aporta el testimonio de reconocidos lingüistas, así como una lista de topónimos en los que se basa la hipótesis expuesta.
This paper looks into the toponym Cerro Muriano from a linguistic perspective, researching on its origin and at the same time discarding some interpretations which are proven to be mistaken. In order to do so, this paper analyses its possible origins, asserting its Pre-Roman nature. After this conclusion, further evidence by accomplished linguists is presented, as well as a list of toponyms upon which this hypothesis is based
