One of the first literary motives at the beginning of literature in Spanish was the complaint of how it affected the feeling of love. Idea that lasts until today. This work aims to study one of the most vigorous literary topics in medieval literature: the transmission of love through the eyes. The value of these lines lies in the analysis of this common place in different centuries, authors and Romanesque literary traditions, especially how it has passed through the centuries for many cultural models, what have been the literary connections and how it has manifested itself in them. Getting, in such a way, a complete vision of this idea, always illustrated with poetic examples, from the initiation of our literature until the end of the Middle Ages.
