Social networks, the media and even academic centers of the Hispanic world register heated debates on various aspects of «inclusive language». Here, it is carried out a n analysis of the planned use of the morpheme -e with the meaning «indistinct gender» or «without gender» in a noun phrase referring to a group integrated by people of more than one gender. The new morpheme -e (and its exclusively written variants -@ and -x) would avoid the masculine morpheme -o as the default option in such contexts. The greatest merit of the use of the morpheme -e is that it makes visible the just claim in favor of gender equality in a poetic way, because it is oriented to the message as such. Nevertheless, the planned use of the morpheme -e faces serious limitations and falls into paradoxes that make it inappropriate in most types of situation.
