L’estudi de l’autoria dels textos que s’atribueixen a Miquel Ortigues ha man-cat fins ara d’un tractament basat en documents d’arxiu i en dades que facili-ten l’aparició de noves evidències que ajuden a esclarir la qüestió. L’origen d’aquesta connexió entre el possible autor i els textos sorgeix arran de l’apa-rició del nom d’Ortigues en l’incipit de la primera composició de l’opuscle conegut com Lo Plant de la Verge Maria en una edició de 1528. A partir d’ací, s’ha relacionat el personatge amb els textos que completen la resta del volum i amb les 59 composicions dels dos manuscrits autògrafs que confor-men el Cançoner sagrat de vides de sants. Des d’aquest punt de partida, en aquest treball aportem noves dades que ajudaran a conèixer millor la figura de Miquel Ortigues i a situar-lo de forma més concreta en el panorama social i històric de la societat valenciana de finals del segle xv i començaments del xvi. A banda, oferim l’estudi i l’edició d’una nova composició, la Resposta, signa-da pel mateix Miquel Ortigues, a partir de la qual s’obren noves perspectives en l’estudi del personatge i de les obres que se li atribueixen.
Up to now, the study of the authorship of the works attributed to Miquel Ortigues has not been conducted using archival documents. We have now gathered evidence which sheds new light on this matter. The possible connection between this author and the texts was discovered when the name of Ortigues was found in the incipit of the first opuscule composition known as “Lo Plant de la Verge Maria” in an edition dated 1528. Considering this, Miquel Ortigues has been associated with the texts that complete the rest of the volume and with the 59 poems in the two signed manuscripts that make up the “Cançoner sagrat de vides de sants”. In light of these developments, in this article we provide new information which will give a better understanding of the significance of Miquel Ortigues and help place him more precisely within the general historical and social scene of Valencian society in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Furthermore, we also report on the study and the publication of a new poetic response signed by Miquel Ortigues, the “Resposta”, from which we can draw new perspectives when studying this remarkable figure and the works that have traditionally been attributed to him.
