Artikulu honetan erromatar eta latindar lexikotik euskarak mailegatu dituen hiru kasu zehatz aztertzen dira. Hainbat hitzez ari gara, denak aurrez aipaturiko hiru etimoetatik eratorriak eta hizkuntza desberdinetatik (gaskoiaren eta gaztelaniaren kidekoak adibidez) eta garai desber-dinetan euskarari mailegatu zaizkionak. Nabarmendu nahi da etimo amankomun bati atxikita-ko multzo gisa baino, hobe dela, bere azterketa etimologikoa zehatzagoa izan dadin, mailegu hauek banaka, bereiz eta bakoitzaren historia aintzat hartuaz aztertzeak duen garrantzia.
This article analyzes three specific cases of Latin and Romance lexicon borrowed into Basque. I deal with a set of words that, while all going back to one of the three common etyma studied, have been successively lent to Basque, from different languages (Castilian or Gascon cognates, for example) or at different historical stages. The article intends to high-light the importance, for the correct etymological interpretation of such loans, of individual-izing them and studying them separately and not as a block assigned to a common etymon without considering each word’s particular history.
Cet article analyse trois cas concrets de mots empruntes par le basque au latin et aux langues romains. Il s’agit de plusieurs mots issus des trois dont les continuateurs ont été empruntes succésivement, à partir de langues différentes (comme le castillan ou le gascon par exemple) et à des périodes différentes de l’histoire. Nous considérons qu’il est important d’individualiser et d’étudier séparément de tels emprunts pour une interprétation étymolo-gique correcte et qu’il ne faut pas les traiter comme un bloc rattaché à un commun sans prendre en considération l’histoire de chaque mot.
En este artículo se analizan tres casos concretos de léxico latino y románico prestado al vasco. Se trata de varias palabras que, remontándose todas a uno de los tres étimos comunes estudiados, se han prestado sucesivamente al vasco, desde lenguas diferentes (cognados castellanos o gascones, p. ej.) o en etapas históricas diferentes. Se pretende destacar la im-portancia de individualizar y estudiar separadamente tales préstamos para su correcta inter-pretación etimológica, y no tratarlos como bloque adscrito a un étimo común sin tomar en consideración la historia de cada palabra.
