En este aporte se exponen y se comentan en primera persona las circunstancias y el contenido de las misivas cruzadas entre el escritor manchego Ángel Crespo (1926-1995) y el filólogo barcelonés José María Balcells durante los inicios de su dilatada relación de amistad que se prolongaría veinte años. Asimismo se reproducen, con notas de diverso tipo, las cartas correspondientes al período que va desde diciembre de 1974 hasta noviembre de 1995. En ese año se intensificaron los intercambios epistolares entre ambos, y de la lectura de las cartas transcritas cabe extraer noticias varias de carácter biográfico y literario sobre este poeta del medio siglo de la pasada centuria.
The author of this paper comments upon the exchange of letters between himself an Ángel Crespo (1926-1995) at the start of a friendship which lasted twenty years. In addition, within the paper, is the reproduction of correspondence with notations of diverse topics during the timeframe of December 1974 to November 1995. It was during that time the correspondence intensified. The letters reproduced contain different bibliographical and literary commentararies about this Spanish poet of the Generation of 50 of the XX century.
