En el presente discurso vamos a analizar las fundaciones y experiencia de dos instituciones educativas modélicas: el colegio de la Asunción de Córdoba, obra del último tercio del siglo XVI, del abulense Dr. Pedro López de Alba, médico del emperador Carlos V, y el Colegio de Santiago de Granada, de mediados del siglo XVII, del abogado granadino Don Diego de Ribera.
In this paper we are going to analyse the foundation and experience of two model educational institutions; the College of La Asunción in Córdoba, founded in the last third of the sixteenth century by Dr Pedro López de Alba, from Ávila, physician to Emperor Charles V, and the College of Santiago in Granada, dating from the mid-seventeenth century and established by the Granada lawyer Don Diego de Ribera.
