This article examines the attitudes of 117 Canarian students of Spanish philology towards the Andalusian variety, based on the answers obtained from the application of the survey designed within the framework of the PRECAVES XXI project. The evaluations of two edu-cated Andalusian voices reveal a low consideration of this variety by the Canarian univer-sity students. The type of speech (spontaneous oral or text-reading) and the voice assessed (male or female) are independent variables that significantly affect the results. In particular, the woman is systematically better considered in all the aspects evaluated, and at the same time she is attributed less marked linguistic characteristics and is therefore recognised to a lesser extent as an Andalusian.
