Los cuentos de hadas han ido evolucionando con el paso de los siglos, versionándose y adaptándose a las necesidades socioculturales de cada época. Al surgir en la tradición oral, no se conserva un registro escrito de la primera de las versiones de cada cuento, lo que le da la oportunidad de cambiar y modificar cualquier detalle. Con el paso del tiempo, puede parecer que las nuevas versiones distan mucho del cuento original, pero realmente todas y cada una de ellas mantiene la simbología universal de la primera versión. A lo largo de este trabajo se estudiará el cuento de La bella durmiente en sus tres versiones más famosas y se podrá observar cómo, pese a todos los cambios introducidos en las diferentes épocas y regiones, se mantienen los símbolos universales, con ciertas novedades para hacer la historia más atractiva para los lectores de la época. Estos símbolos nos demuestran que, sin importar lo mucho que cambie el cuento, la esencia seguirá siendo la misma.
Fairy tales have evolved over the centuries, versioning and adapting to the socio-cultural needs of each era. As it arises in oral tradition, no written record is kept of the first version of each tale, which gives the opportunity to change and modify any details. Over time, it may seem that the new versions are far from the original fairy tale story, but really each and every one of them maintains the universal symbology of the first version. Throughout this work, the story of Sleeping Beauty will be studied in its three most famous versions and it will be possible to observe how, despite all the changes introduced in different times and regions, the universal symbols are maintained, with certain novelties to make the most attractive story for readers of the time. These symbols show us that no matter how much the story changes, the essence will remain the same.
