La necesidad del actor de expresarse en una variedad lingüística desprovista de marcas geográficas suscita la reflexión sobre qué se entiende por acento idiomático no marcado. Si existe realmente el llamado acento neutro, quién decide cuál es ese acento y de dónde surge el concepto, en qué se diferencia de la variedad normativa o correcta de la lengua, por qué se estigmatizan las variedades marcadas regionalmente y qué importancia se le otorga al acento no marcado en el mundo de la interpretación son algunas de las cuestiones de este artículo. Asimismo, se exponen los rasgos característicos del español no marcado a partir de su base de articulación y se proponen algunas pautas para adquirirlo estableciendo una relación con la enseñanza de segundas lenguas.
The actor's need to express himself in a linguistic variety de-void of geographical markings raises reflection on what is understood by an unmarked idiomatic accent. If there really is a so-called neutral accent, who decides what that accent is and where the concept comes from, how does it differ from the normative or correct variety of the language, why are regionally marked varieties stigmatized and what importance is given to the unmarked accent in the world of acting are some of the questions in this article. Likewise, the characteristic fea-tures of unmarked Spanish are exposed from its articulation base and some guidelines are proposed to acquire it, establishing a relationship with the teaching of foreign languages.
