Este trabajo pretende caracterizar el concepto del sacrificio en Poeta en Nueva York, de Federico García Lorca, mediante el análisis de varios poemas y símbolos recurrentes a lo largo del poemario. Se observa, también, la disposición dicotómica de los elementos que pueblan la obra, agrupándose, en suma, bajo la pareja de contrarios conformada por Nueva York y el espacio natural. Se aborda, por una parte, el sacrificio que la metrópoli lleva a cabo de la naturaleza y, por consiguiente, de los elementos rechazados por la moral y el orden neoyorquino (e.g. sacralidad, homoerotismo, feminidad o lenguaje poético). Por otro lado, sin embargo, se atiende al sacrificio de la voz lírica por parte del ambiente natural. Este acto se realiza en pos de restaurar, a partir de la palabra poética, la naturaleza y el mundo telúrico que entraña, destruidos previamente por Nueva York.
This essay aims to characterize the concept of sacrifice in Poeta en Nueva York, by Federico García Lorca, through the analysis of several poems and recurrent symbols appearing throughout the book. Also, the dichotomic arrangement of the elements that fill the work is observed. These elements are grouped under the pair of opposites con-formed by New York and the natural space. On the one hand, it deals with the sacrifice of nature by the metropolis and, therefore, the sacrifice of the elements rejected by the moral and the order of New York (e.g.sacredness, homoeroticism, femininity or poetic lenguaje). On the other hand, however, it takes into account the sacrifice of the lyric voice ca-rried out by the natural environment. This act is performed to restore, by the means of the poetic word, the nature and the teluric world that the nature constitutes, previously destroyed by New York.
