Se propone la identificación de Alonso Fernández de Avellaneda con fray Prudencio de Sandoval, obispo de Tuy y Pamplona. Se analizan más de un centenar de índices lingüísticos de las dos novelas insertas, y se coteja su diferente presencia en los candidatos a esta atribución, concluyendo que los índices objetivos apuntan a la autoría de fray Prudencio de Sandoval de forma significativa. Se propone asimismo un origen del pseudónimo Avellaneda.
We propose the identification of Alonso Fernández de Avellaneda with friar Prudencio de Sandoval, bishop of Tuy and Pamplona. We analyse more than one hundred linguistic indexes from the inserted novels, and collate their different presence in the candidates for this attribution, concluding that the objective indexes strongly point towards the authorship by friar Prudencio de Sandoval. We also propose an origin of the Avellaneda pseudonym.
