El objetivo de este artículo es extraer las similitudes y las diferencias entre la historia y la literatura en el ámbito estético. Para ello, se realiza una comparación entre las dos y se divide en tres grupos: el primero, el de los componentes conceptuales, abarca el tema y el fondo; el segundo, los componentes formales como el substrato, la modalidad y la genericidad y, finalmente, el de los componentes funcionales comprende la comunicación y la ficcionalización. Las dos actividades, literatura e historiografía, son necesarias y ambas pueden producir obras de un considerable nivel estético. La historia, sin embargo, se caracteriza por la objetividad y la imparcialidad. Así, se concluye con que el valor de la historia reside en su capacidad de representar el pasado tal como era y hacerlo comprensible a las personas de épocas posteriores.
The aim of this article is to extract the similarities and differences between history and literature in the aesthetic field. To do this, a comparison is made between the two and is divided into three groups: the first, that of the conceptual components, covers the theme and the background; the second, the formal components such as the substrate, the modality and the genericity and, finally, that of the functional components includes communication and fictionalization. The two activities, literature and historiography, are necessary and both can produce works of a considerable aesthetic level. History, however, is characterized by objectivity and impartiality. Thus, it is concluded that the value of history lies in its ability to represent the past as it was and make it understandable to people of later times.
