La figura de Lope de Vega fue analizada con precisión en la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Románticos y neoclásicos debatieron con especial atención el corpus literario de Lope, especialmente el referido a la dramaturgia. La preceptiva neoclásica y la estética romántica se enfrentaron entre sí tanto en los círculos literarios de la época como en las publicaciones periódicas del momento. Desde esta perspectiva analizamos la dramaturgia de Lope de Vega, desde su recepción en la escena española hasta su rechazo o imitación.
During the first half of the 19th century, the figure of Lope de Vega was analysed in detail. Romanticists and Neoclassists debated his literary corpus with special emphasis, on drama. Neoclassic precepts and romantic aesthetics were contrasted not only in the literary circles of that era, but also in the press publications of that moment. The drama of Lope de Vega will be analyzed from these perspectives: the acceptance in the Spanish scene, its rejection or its imitation.
