El siguiente artículo tiene como objetivo presentar la relación que mantenían Pereda y su primo Domingo Cuevas a través, sobre todo, de una frecuente correspondencia. Asimismo, también se destaca el interés de Cuevas por las letras, lo que le condujo a escribir numerosos relatos. Cuevas llegó a la escritura por el camino de la oralidad y sus dotes de observación y sus descripciones de personajes, escenas y lugares dieron a sus relatos escritos un inesperado valor costumbrista.
The following article aims to present the relationship that Pereda and his cousin Domingo Cuevas maintained through, above all, a frequent correspondence. It also highlights Cuevas' interest in letters, which led him to write numerous stories. Cuevas came to the writing by the way of orality and his gifts of observation and his descriptions of characters, scenes and places gave his written stories an unexpected customs value.
