Esta necrológica rinde homenaje a Manuel Arce Lago (San Roque del Acebal, Asturias, 1928- Santander, 2018). Su huella en la vida cultural de Santander fue notable. Además, aceptó la presidencia del Consejo Social de la Universidad de Cantabria (1985- 1997) y formó parte de infinitos jurados, incluido el Príncipe de Asturias, en la edición en que se concedieron el galardón a su amigo del alma, Ricardo Gullón. En el terreno de la literatura, dejó cinco libros de poesía y siete novelas. También fue editor de la importante e imprescindible revista La isla de los ratones (1848-1955). Por último, cabe destacar dos obras importantes: Anzuelos para la lubina, de 1962, y El latido de la memoria, de 2006.
This obituary pays tribute to Manuel Arce Lago (San Roque del Acebal, Asturias, 1928- Santander, 2018). His imprint on the cultural life of Santander was remarkable. In addition, he accepted the presidency of the Social Council of the University of Cantabria (1985-1997) and was part of infinite juries, including the Prince of Asturias, in the edition in which the award was granted to his friend of the soul, Ricardo Gullón. In the field of literature, he left five books of poetry and seven novels. He was also editor of the important and essential magazine La isla de los ratones (1848-1955). Finally, two important works should be highlighted: Hooks for bass, 1962, and The heartbeat of memory, 2006.
